  1. This is the Pantone Colors CFT for the DeskJet 500C printer.

  3. The colors in this CFT are essentially the same as in the CFT of Pantone
  4. Colors for coated paper.  The two differences are that the values for each
  5. color in this file are set in the RGB palatte while in the original they
  6. are in the CYMK palatte.  They have been changed in order to work with the
  7. DJ500C printer.  It seem that at the moment, Calamus SL and this printer
  8. don't speak the same language when it comes to CYMK colors.  Hopefully
  9. this will be cleared up in the not too distant future!  In the meantime,
  10. this will allow you to work with your existing files.

  12. If you already have a CDK that uses the Pantone Colors:

  14. After loading your CDK, go to the Color Table dialog [5.1.6] and load
  15. in the file XPT1500C.CFT, when the next dialog appears click on
  16. 'MERGE'.

  18. After it merges (this takes a minute or so!) scrol through
  19. the list of colors and click on each and every of the original colors
  20. you had with your CDK.  If a color is not in use DELETE it.  If it is
  21. in used in the current document, another dialog box will appear
  22. asking you to choose a replacement color.  For now, just click on
  23. continue and keep deleting all the 'not in use' colors.

  25. Calamus will not let you replace a CMYK palatte color with a RGB
  26. palatte color when DELETE'ing.  First you'll need to go through one
  27. more step.  Ready?

  29. When only the colors that are in use remain, click on each of them in
  30. turn and then click on the RGB button.  Do this with all the 'in use
  31. colors'.  Once this is done, you can again click on each of these 'in
  32. use colors' and click on DELETE, and now when the dialog box asking
  33. for a replacement color appears, select the same number or name
  34. Pantone Color from the new color table.  All the new color names begin
  35. with the letter " X "....other wise the names and numbers are the
  36. same.  This will make finding the substitute color pretty easy!
